Brit is so talented and such a lovely human! I always leave their chair in a great mood and feeling good about myself. Brit is fun to chat and laugh with and I’m always confident they will give me the haircut that’s right for me. The layers Brit puts in my hair always grow out so beautifully, I love a haircut that looks great even months after my appointment.

Brit is both a consummate professional as well as a hilarious sweetie who will not let you down. They color matched my hair to a pocket hankie for my brothers wedding PERFECTLY and gave me a cut and style that made me feel confident (and super hot lol) enough to be part of his wedding party as the only alt/gay looking person. Brit also took into account my sensory needs and made sure nothing was a surprise and checked in on my comfort regularly. The color has washed beautifully and I couldn't be happier with the magic Brit did to my hair!

i never knew just how affirming a haircut could be until i sat in brit’s chair for the first time. brit has been cutting my hair for over two years now, and even though i’ve generally gotten a similar cut, brit always checks in about how things felt/feel since our last appointment and refines my cut even further to do what i thought was impossible- have a short haircut that grows in beautifully with no awkward phases. brit’s hair wizardry aside, they are genuinely one of the most delightful people to share space and conversation with, and i feel so fortunate to have found a friend in them. to put it simply: if you want an intentionally crafted, affirming, and long-lasting cut, get into brit’s chair !

I could not recommend Brit enough, especially if you’re a queer / neurodivergent person looking for a hairstylist that creates a safe and accommodating space for all of their clients. The haircuts have been amazing, Brit is a skilled hair stylist. But what really keeps me coming back is Brit’s consistent thoughtfulness and great energy. I have been seeing Brit at Fairly Reckless since February and plan to keep coming back. For a long time I didn’t know what to do with my hair and I don’t always feel comfortable spending an hour with a stranger while they touch my head, so my hair had grown quite long but was not in any particular style. After finding Brit on Instagram (@sheerlock_combs) I was like “okay I can give this a shot”. I knew I wanted something shorter and alternative. I came to Brit with my boring long hair, with the goal of going shorter and looking more visibly queer. Brit sat with me and really took the time to understand what I was looking for and what I wasn’t looking for and then took time to learn my hair texture and set expectations on how to style the kind of cuts I was interested in. Brit also sends me home each time with tips on how to style and maintain my look at home. Tips that are actually reasonable and fit my routine and preference for low maintenance air dried styles. One of my favorite things that Brit does is let me know what’s happening and what’s going to happen the entire time. I always know exactly what to expect when Brit is working on my hair and they makes it clear we can always pause or adjust as needed. They always ask before touching or adjusting my head. As someone who doesn’t always love touch or certain sensory things, I really appreciate how this was not something I had to ask for, and that this is Brit’s default way of interacting with all their clients. On top of all of this, Brit is also fun to chat with. And when I’m tired or not feeling chatty, we still have a great time and Brit meets me where I’m at without making me feel obligated to small talk or share. That really takes a lot of the pressure off and I love that. Brit and I have been on a journey with my hair since February and I couldn’t be happier with my hair. I get so many compliments, but more importantly I have never felt more myself!

Brit is amazing at what they do! They were the first person to give me a good haircut in my first 10 years in Boston. They recently gave me THE BEST cut of my life last month. Brit is such an incredibly skilled, talented, and wonderful stylist! I have been receiving haircuts from Brit for the past few years and they are the only haircuts I’ve ever truly LOVED. Every time I leave an appointment with Brit I feel beautiful and more like myself. Brit listens carefully and seems to intuitively understand the things you want from a haircut but have a hard time describing in words. I appreciate them so, so much. I will never go to anyone else!
